Flutter Team Announces Global 2026 Tour: Core Developers to Meet Community at 20+ Events

Last updated: 2026-05-10 11:27:24 · Environment & Energy

The Flutter team has officially unveiled a worldwide tour for 2026, with core developers visiting more than 20 events across four continents starting this spring. The initiative aims to engage directly with the developer community ahead of the release of Dart 3.12 and Flutter 3.44.

“I strongly believe in the power of community — whether digital or in-person,” said Tim Sneath, Flutter Product Manager at Google. “Some of the most impactful moments of my career have come from community-led events.”

Background

Flutter is Google’s open-source UI toolkit for building natively compiled applications for mobile, web, desktop, and embedded devices from a single codebase. The Dart 3.12 and Flutter 3.44 releases are expected later this year, bringing performance improvements and new features.

The developer relations team operates several programs including customer advisory boards, meetup organizer networks, Flutteristas, the Flutter consultants program, Google Developer Experts (GDEs), and Google Developer Group (GDG) organizers. The tour will leverage these channels to collect feedback and showcase live demos.

What This Means

For developers, this tour provides a rare opportunity to meet the core team in person, see live demos of upcoming features, and give direct feedback that shapes Flutter’s roadmap. “Our mission is to build the most productive app framework for high-performance, full-stack, multi-platform applications,” Sneath added. “Doing that means hearing from you.”

Organizations hosting Flutter events not on the current list are encouraged to reach out to the Flutter team. “If we’re already in your area, we want to meet and share with as many of you as possible,” said a Flutter developer relations representative. This signals a renewed commitment to community-driven development at scale.

The tour also underscores Flutter’s growing global footprint, with stops in Asia, Europe, North America, and Latin America. As the platform expands beyond mobile into gaming, ephemeral experiences, and full-stack development, these face-to-face interactions are expected to accelerate adoption and innovation.
